Dubai, Western Cape push for stronger trade ties

Dubai Chambers and South Africa’s Western Cape province are working to strengthen trade flows and improve supply chain connectivity between the two markets, creating new opportunities for businesses involved in the movement of goods.

The effort is expected to support exporters, importers and logistics providers by improving access to trade routes linking Africa, the Middle East and other international markets. Stronger commercial links could help companies move products more efficiently, diversify supply chains and expand into new markets.

Food trade is expected to be a key area of cooperation, given the Western Cape’s role as a major agricultural and food-producing region. Closer trade ties could facilitate the movement of food products through Dubai, which serves as an important gateway for regional and global trade.

The initiative also aims to encourage greater collaboration between businesses across the logistics and trade ecosystem, helping companies identify new sourcing, distribution and market access opportunities.
