Dubai International Airport (DXB) has surged ahead in the latest ACI World 2025 airport cargo rankings, rising six spots from 17th to 11th, the biggest jump among all global cargo hubs, said Justin Erbacci, Director General, ACI World. The announcement, made by Airports Council International (ACI) World, highlights DXB’s importance as a strategic logistics hub. The 2024 air cargo volumes reflect the Middle East’s accelerating role in global supply chains, driven by demand for faster cross-border fulfillment, maritime disruption, and lower jet fuel costs. As per ACI, total global air cargo volumes reached 127 MMT MMT in 2024, up 9.9 per cent YoY, with the top 20 cargo airports handling over 52.2 million tonnes. DXB’s rise reinforces the UAE’s ambition to become a central player in global logistics and e-commerce connectivity., “These rankings reflect the scale of global aviation and the resilience of the industry that continues to grow, despite the complex global environment,” Erbacci said.
