Egypt’s exports to China nearly tripled to US$840.8 million in the first half of 2026, helping push Egypt-China trade to US$11.3 billion, according to CAPMAS. The growth adds momentum to trade between the Middle East and Asia, with higher cargo flows creating opportunities for freight and logistics networks connecting Egypt with Chinese markets.

Egyptian imports from China also rose 14.3% to US$10.4 billion during the period. The increase in two-way trade is likely to support demand for air and sea freight, warehousing, customs and inland transport as more goods move between the two markets.

Fuel, mineral oils and related products were Egypt’s largest exports to China, valued at US$494 million. On the import side, electrical and mechanical machinery and equipment led at US$4.1 billion.

Cars, tractors and motorcycles accounted for US$1.2 billion of imports, followed by iron and steel products at US$930.7 million and plastics at US$524 million.

The figures come as China and Egypt seek to strengthen cooperation in trade, investment and industrial development. For regional logistics operators, stronger Egypt-China trade could further strengthen Egypt’s role as a link between Middle Eastern and Asian supply chains.
