Egypt-UAE trade reaches $9.68bn as exports surge

Egypt-UAE bilateral trade reached $9.68 billion in 2025, with Egypt’s exports to the UAE rising to $6.99 billion from $1.22 billion in 2021. Imports from the UAE increased to $2.69 billion, giving Egypt a trade surplus of about $4.3 billion.

The rise in trade is increasing the need for stronger cargo and logistics links between the two markets. Egypt’s ports, industrial zones and logistics infrastructure can support growing freight flows to the UAE and provide connections to wider Gulf and African markets.

Egypt is also looking to use its logistics network and trade agreements to expand access to regional markets. This could support new cargo routes and supply chain links between Egypt, the UAE and African markets.

Mohamed Farid, Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade, Egypt, said the country’s investment potential is supported by its advanced infrastructure, industrial and logistics zones, and extensive network of free trade agreements, providing access to Arab, African and European markets.

The two countries are also seeking to expand economic and trade cooperation in African markets and develop joint projects.

Trade between Egypt and the UAE rose 71% year-on-year to $5.4 billion in January-July 2025, according to CAPMAS, showing continued growth in bilateral trade flows.
