Emirates NBD backs Emirates Airline with 2 Boeing 777Fs

Emirates NBD has signed a US$ 350 million aircraft financing deal with Emirates Airline. The funding will help Emirates receive two Boeing 777-200Fs, supporting the growth of Emirates’ SkyCargo’s fleet and strengthening Dubai, and the UAE, as a global trade and logistics hub, said Ahmed Al Qassim of Emirates NBD. The deal highlights the bank’s expertise in aviation financing and its commitment to the UAE’s economic growth and diversification. For Emirates, this is the first time it has used a direct mortgage-style aircraft financing without an offshore Special Purpose Company, reflecting a move toward cost-efficient funding. The deal shows the bank’s support for key sectors driving the UAE economy. The partnership strengthens fleet expansion and Dubai’s global trade role, Michael Doersam of Emirates emphasised.
