Emirates SkyCargo is adding a weekly freighter to Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi Airport, strengthening its presence in East and Southeast Asia. With one of the largest networks of any non-Asian airline, the new service gives businesses in the region more ways to move goods around the world through Dubai. Badr Abbas, Emirates SkyCargo’s Divisional Senior Vice President said, “Markets such as Thailand and Vietnam are the new heartbeat of global trade, with established and modern manufacturing capabilities, evolving digital economies and world-class logistics infrastructure. We do not see demand slowing and stand ready to support the region’s growth with the quick, reliable and efficient movement of goods worldwide.” The airline now serves 43 destinations worldwide with its dedicated freighter fleet, 11 of which are in East and Southeast Asia. This expansion aligns with Thailand’s “Thailand 4.0” economic vision, which emphasises on innovation and advanced technologies in sectors such as automotive, smart electronics, medical devices, biotechnology, and robotics. Emirates SkyCargo’s fleet of over 260 widebody aircraft and extensive network positions it well to move Thailand’s delicate tech products, garments, and perishable goods efficiently. Demand in the region is driving further growth. Emirates SkyCargo has increased freighter services to Hanoi to four weekly flights, improving connectivity for Vietnamese exporters. A sixth weekly freighter has also been added to Guangzhou, meeting strong demand for consumer tech, electrical goods, and e-commerce shipments from China. Over three decades, Emirates SkyCargo has steadily built its East and Southeast Asian operations, now covering 25 gateways with a combination of freighter, charter, and passenger services, offering an available capacity of 21,000 tonnes per week.
