Emirates to boost 15% capacity, more 747 freighters soon

Emirates SkyCargo is set to increase its cargo capacity by 15 per cent in early 2025 with the wet lease of two Boeing 747 freighters through a multi-year agreement with Compass Group, a trusted partner, Badr Abbas, Divisional Senior Vice President, Emirates SkyCargo, said. In 2024, the airline bolstered its fleet with two new Boeing 777 freighters, focusing on e-commerce growth from Asia. The expanded fleet enabled Emirates SkyCargo to add Copenhagen, Denmark, to its network, bringing the total number of freighter destinations to 38. “Throughout 2024, we made investments in new and leased freighter aircraft to address the evolving supply chain and air cargo demands. This remains a key priority for Emirates SkyCargo, as we set our sights on the next era of growth.
