Etihad Cargo records 37% rise in ferrying pharma volumes in ’23

Etihad Cargo recorded the highest pharma volumes ferried in history; it achieved a 37 per cent increase in shipments compared to 2022 and ferried 10 per cent more fresh and perishable shipments, a statement stated.  Achieving year over year growth of its dedicated cool chain products — PharmaLife and FreshForward — in 2023, Etihad Cargo has achieved growth for both products despite challenging market conditions in 2023, the statement added. This achievement reflects the carrier’s commitment to excellence in pharma and perishables logistics thereby reinforcing its position as a leading global air cargo operator. The cargo carrier has added features to its cool chain product range, including PharmaLife for pharma shipments, healthcare and life sciences products and FreshForward for the perishable shipments, including fresh fruits, vegetables, dairy, fish, meat and flowers. The carrier was also awarded IATA’s Centre of Excellence for Independent Validators (CEIV) certification in pharma and fresh logistics. A commitment to safety and quality has enabled Etihad Cargo to achieve a 99.1 per cent compliance rate for pharma shipments in addition to growing cool chain volumes for the past three years.
