FedEx expands GCC dangerous goods transport

FedEx has introduced dangerous goods transport across its Middle East road network, allowing eligible regulated shipments to move between the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Kuwait and Oman through its Regional Economy and Regional Economy Freight services.
The service covers goods such as laboratory materials, diagnostic samples, dry ice shipments, chemicals and lithium batteries, subject to local rules and shipment requirements.
The expansion will support sectors including healthcare, life sciences, energy, petrochemicals and technology, which rely on the safe movement of specialist materials.
Road links across the five markets will give companies another option for moving regulated goods within the region.
Shipments will use road transport that follows applicable ADR requirements, with customs clearance, shipment tracking and dedicated handling controls. The services also offer day-definite delivery, helping customers plan shipments across GCC markets.
Taarek Hinedi, FedEx vice-president of Operations and Planning and Engineering for the Middle East, Indian Subcontinent and Africa, said: “Expanding the capabilities of our Middle East Road Network to support dangerous goods gives businesses greater flexibility to move critical commodities across GCC markets.”
