GCC, India strengthen Trade amid Challenges

The Gulf Cooperation Council Secretary-General Jasem Albudaiwi held a virtual meeting with Piyush Goyal, Minister of Commerce and Industry of the India, to explore avenues to enhance bilateral trade exchange amid ongoing global economic challenges. During the discussions, both sides focused on strengthening cooperation across trade, investment and supply chain ecosystems to support mutual economic interests. Goyal reiterated India’s readiness to extend support across key economic and trade sectors, reinforcing the strategic partnership between India and the GCC bloc. Albudaiwi welcomed India’s proactive approach, highlighting the importance of deepening collaboration in trade and logistics. He also acknowledged the significant role of Indian expertise across GCC markets, underlining the long-standing and evolving Gulf-India relationship. Commenting on supply chain resilience, Albudaiwi stated: “These policies have ensured the continuous flow of goods and services, reinforcing the resilience of the GCC states' economies and their ability to address regional and international challenges.”
He further emphasized that coordinated policies and strong cooperation among GCC member states have enabled the region to effectively navigate current global disruptions.
