GWC expands Oman cold chain operations

GCC’s leading logistics company—Gulf Warehousing Company (GWC)—is adding an additional route for frozen cargo into Qatar. Extending its cold chain services from vessel handling to temperature-controlled storage and cross-border distribution, it completed its first-ever frozen bulk vessel operation in the Sultanate of Oman.

Usually, frozen goods enter Oman in standard containers, but handling the first full frozen bulk vessel demanded specialised cold chain expertise at every stage—from vessel offloading and temperature-controlled storage to distribution, while maintaining uninterrupted temperature control from the port to the warehouse.

The delivery helped GWC Group secure a larger commission to handle its largest frozen bulk vessel operation to date, along with a long-term cold storage contract in Oman. This expanded the company’s relationship with the customer from vessel handling to ongoing storage and regional distribution. Besides its operations in Oman, GWC has also been strengthening its operations over the past two years in Saudi Arabia, the UAE and Bahrain, expanding its reach across the GCC. The expansion signals growth and highlights its role as a connector between logistics infrastructure and capabilities across Gulf markets.

Further expanding its operations, GWC also began road logistics, transporting frozen poultry products by road from Barka in Oman to Qatar and Kuwait, with combined volumes of more than 1,000 truckloads of frozen cargo handled, stored and distributed across Gulf markets.
