Hatta trade value reaches AED37bn in H1

Trade passing through Dubai’s Hatta Customs Crossing rose sharply in the first half of 2026, with total trade value reaching AED37.08 billion, up 175% from AED13.48 billion a year earlier. Loaded truck movements also increased 160.1% to 108,811.
The increase highlights Hatta’s growing role in supporting overland trade between Dubai and regional markets. Higher truck volumes can help businesses move goods across borders more efficiently and maintain supply chain flows as regional trade routes change.
Measures such as the Green Corridor initiative and Shahin electronic seal system have supported the movement and security of cargo. A total of 7,870 electronic seals were used on trucks at Hatta during the period.
The crossing also handled more than 919,000 travellers and around 322,000 light vehicles, while bus movements rose 77.5%.
Abdulla bin Damithan, Chairman of the Ports, Customs and Free Zone Corporation, said, “In a world where the map of trade is changing at an unprecedented pace, the ability to ensure the continuity of supply chains and strengthen investor confidence has become one of the most important pillars of economic competitiveness. Building on the vision of our leadership, Dubai continues to cement its position as a global gateway for trade and investment through flexible economic policies and an integrated system that anticipates change and enhances the emirate's readiness to absorb the accelerating shifts in the global economy, turning them into quality growth opportunities.”
He added, “The exceptional performance achieved by Hatta Customs Crossing embodies this strategic approach and confirms Dubai's ability to respond efficiently to regional shifts, ensuring the smooth flow of trade and the continuity of supply chains – reinforcing the emirate's position as a trusted partner and a key hub for global trade.”
Customs inspectors at the crossing recorded 129 seizures during the six-month period.
