Front End enabled the demonstration of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s (KSA) first unmanned air taxi trial in Mecca, in partnership with EHang. “The debut flight of the EH216-S pilotless eVTOL in KSA marks a milestone in EHang’s ongoing internationalisation,” Huazhi Hu, Founder and CEO of EHang, said. The trial, supported by the General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA), along with the Ministry of Transport and Logistics Services, Ministry of Hajj, and Ministry of Interior, marks a step toward smart mobility solutions in the Kingdom. His Excellency Abdulaziz Al-Duailej, President, GACA, emphasised, “The trial represents a major advancement in integrating Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) solutions into KSA’s aviation landscape.” The demonstration aims to streamline transportation during the annual Hajj pilgrimage, addressing unique logistical challenges by moving pilgrims efficiently between key locations. “Front End is at the forefront of this trailblazing trial, potentially revolutionising Hajj transportation.
