IATA opens bidding for CORSIA Phase 1 units

Airlines can now participate in the Q3 2025 CORSIA Emissions Unit Eligibility (EEU) Event to bid for Guyana REDD+ CORSIA Phase 1 units, IATA posted on X. The bidding window will remain open until 19 September. The initiative is designed to support airlines in meeting their commitments under the Carbon Offsetting and Reduction Scheme for International Aviation (CORSIA), according to IATA. The process features first-come, first-served allocation, fixed pricing through an online form, multiple transaction options and flexible payment methods. The scheme is likely to play a key role in helping carriers, including cargo airlines, offset emissions, while aligning with global sustainability goals.
