IATA teams with British Airways, Microsoft for CO2 Connect

IATA has announced partnering with British Airways and Microsoft to improve accuracy of IATA CO2 Connect for cargo in calculating emissions. The announcement was made at the IATA World Sustainability Symposium, which took place in Miami. IATA CO2 Connect for Cargo will be available from first quarter of 2025 and distributed across quote & book systems, forwarders, shippers and airlines. “Relationships, including those announced today will help make IATA CO2 Connect for Cargo a powerful and accurate tool. The world is watching as aviation progresses on the challenging journey of decarbonisation. Transparency and accuracy, enhanced by these partnerships, are critical.  Our aim is to have the accurate data about aviation’s carbon footprint,” Marie Owens Thomsen, Senior Vice President, Sustainability and Chief Economist, IATA, said.
