Jordan’s export growth is strengthening trade flows in the Middle East, with total exports rising 11.6 per cent to JD5.183 billion in the first five months of 2026, according to monthly foreign trade data from the Department of Statistics (DoS). The increase was driven by higher national exports and re-exports, reflecting stronger movement of goods between Jordan and key regional and international markets.
National exports grew 5.8 per cent to JD3.796 billion, while re-exports increased 31.3 per cent to JD1.387 billion during January-May 2026. The rise in exports was supported by higher shipments of garments and clothing accessories, nitrogenous and chemical fertilizers, and crude potash.
The growth in trade activity can support logistics and supply chain networks by increasing demand for transportation, warehousing and cross-border services. Jordan’s expanding export links with markets including Syria, China and European Union countries are also creating more movement of goods through regional trade routes.
The country’s export-import coverage ratio improved to 63 per cent during the period, compared with 56 per cent a year earlier. In May alone, Jordan’s total exports reached JD1.319 billion, marking a 20.3 per cent increase compared with May 2025.
