Jordan targets new trade flows with Europe

Jordan is seeking to strengthen trade links with Belgium and Luxembourg, with a focus on expanding exports, improving access to European markets and creating new business connections. The effort could also support the movement of Jordanian goods into the EU by helping companies better understand market and regulatory requirements.
The Euro-Arab Market Access Platform provides information on European legislation, standards and trade requirements. This can help exporters prepare shipments, reduce compliance issues and improve their ability to enter EU markets, particularly smaller businesses.
Jordan’s location and transport infrastructure could also support European companies looking to access markets in the Middle East and take part in reconstruction projects in Syria and Lebanon.
Khalil Haj Tawfiq, President of the Amman Chamber of Commerce, said: “Better market access can help Jordanian businesses expand exports and strengthen regional trade links.”
