Kanoo Logistics has opened a new temperature-controlled warehouse in Dammam in Saudi Arabia. The facility is located near King Abdulaziz Port and is built to handle goods that need controlled temperatures, such as food and pharmaceutical products. The company says this is part of its expansion in the region and its plan to grow its logistics operations in the Kingdom.
Saffia Abdulla Kanoo, Chairwoman of Kanoo Logistics, said the investment is aimed at strengthening supply chain capabilities in the region. She added that the company is focused on building more flexible logistics systems aligned with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 goals.
The new warehouse is expected to improve storage and movement of temperature-sensitive cargo in the Eastern Province. Being close to a major port can help reduce delays in handling imported and exported goods. It may also support faster movement of goods into supply chains that depend on strict temperature conditions, especially for healthcare and food industries.
From an industry point of view, the facility adds more capacity to cold chain logistics in Saudi Arabia. This is important as demand for such services is rising with trade growth and more strict quality requirements for perishable goods. It also supports wider logistics efficiency, as companies try to reduce wastage and improve delivery reliability.
