KSA has announced a master plan for three key airports in the Kingdom — King Fahd International Airport (KFIA) in Dammam, Al Ahsa International Airport and Qaisumah International Airport. It aims to handle over 600,000 tonnes of cargo capacity annually by 2030, a more than 10-fold increase. As part of its most ambitious expansion to date, KFIA is set to undergo a major transformation. Eastern Province Governor Prince Saud bin Naif bin Abdulaziz unveiled a new strategic roadmap for Dammam airports, alongside the launch of over SAR1.6 billion (US$ 426 million) worth of integrated development projects. The plan includes a comprehensive upgrade of general aviation facilities and significant infrastructure enhancements to align with global aviation standards. The move is part of a broader airport master plan aligned with Vision 2030 to position Dammam as a key regional logistics hub.
