KSA’s Vision 2030 spurs growth in air cargo capacity

The aviation industry is a cornerstone of Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 economic diversification plan, which aims to increase air cargo capacity. The kingdom is investing heavily in aviation infrastructure, with billions directed towards airport modernization and new aircraft acquisitions to enhance air connectivity.

A new report by the General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) underscores the success of these efforts, revealing that the sector contributed US $20.8 billion to Saudi Arabia’s GDP in 2023. GACA President Abdulaziz Al Duailej stated, “Saudi Arabia is building a more resilient, connected, and high-performing aviation sector – spanning our airlines, airports, cargo and logistics, and human capability and training systems.”
