KSA to operate multipurpose cargo terminals at eight ports

Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has signed major privatisation contracts worth SAR 2.2 billion to operate multipurpose cargo terminals at eight key ports, explained His Excellency Eng. Saleh Al-Jasser, Transport Minister. Led by the Saudi Ports Authority (Mawani) and the National Center for Privatisation, the 20-year Build-Operate-Transfer agreements were signed with Saudi Global Ports and Red Sea Gateway Terminal Company. The Transport Minister highlighted the growing global interest in the Kingdom’s logistics sector and its role in driving economic diversification. “These efforts reflect the Centre’s vision of building an effective privatisation ecosystem that delivers sustainable economic impact and supports the Kingdom’s ambition to become a global logistics hub under Saudi Vision 2030,” His Excellency Mohannad bin Ahmed Basodan, CEO, National Center for Privatisation said.
