CargoTalk is media partner for the 25th edition of the Airport Show, set to take place at the Dubai World Trade Centre from 12–14 May 2026. Airport construction projects in the MENA region are advancing rapidly, with 78.7% of the total pipeline value now in pre-execution or execution stages. Saudi Arabia holds the largest share at 42.5%, followed by the UAE at 26.8% and Bahrain at 7.6%, reflecting the region’s focus on expanding airport infrastructure to meet growing passenger and cargo demand.
The pipeline includes both new airport developments and expansions of existing facilities. Major projects in Dubai and Riyadh aim to handle hundreds of millions of passengers annually, while also increasing cargo and logistics capacity across the region.
Investments are being channeled toward sustainability and operational efficiency, with energy-efficient terminals, renewable energy integration, and digital tools for optimized airport management. Analysts say the advanced stage of these projects highlights MENA’s strategic role in global aviation.
With billions committed and active development underway, the region is set to transform its airport infrastructure over the next decade, strengthening its position as a hub for travel, trade, and logistics.
