Saudi Arabia has opened all land borders with Kuwait, including 44 lanes at the Khafji crossing, operating 24/7 to speed up travel and cargo movement. The move allows Kuwait to receive essential goods, commercial shipments, and travellers more efficiently, reducing congestion and supporting uninterrupted trade.

The Khafji border, linking Kuwait with Saudi Arabia’s Eastern Province, now handles both passenger vehicles and large transport trucks smoothly. Cargo trucks can move without delays, helping Kuwaiti businesses maintain steady supplies of food, fuel, and other essentials. Travelers benefit from faster processing and shorter waiting times, making cross-border movement easier for work, family visits, and commerce.

The Kuwaiti Ministry of Interior is coordinating with Saudi authorities to ensure safe and efficient operations, following clear procedures. Officials highlight that this step strengthens Kuwait’s logistics network, keeps supply chains flowing, and prevents shortages during critical periods.

Beyond practical benefits, the gesture reflects the historic partnership between Kuwait and Saudi Arabia, reinforcing neighborly support and cooperation. For Kuwait, the open borders mean a reliable, fast, and organized connection with a key trade partner, ensuring goods and people move efficiently across the shared border.
