Glyn Hughes, Director General, TIACA, averred, “The Middle East holds a unique geographic advantage. With Asia as the production hub and Western Europe and North America as the primary consumption centers, the Middle East serves as a link. Ongoing disruptions in the Red Sea have lengthened maritime shipping times, adding cost and complexity. In contrast, air cargo has emerged as a vital alternative, and the region’s investment in freighter fleets has strengthened its position as a logistics hub. Airlines based here in the Middle East have invested significantly over the last few years in modern fleets and freighter fleets. There is a large concentration of freighters here.”
