Meituan expands LMD in Dubai with new drone routes

Meituan is expanding its drone last-mile delivery (LMD) in Dubai by launching up to three new drone delivery routes in the second half of this year, with potential for further expansion, announced Yinian Mao, Vice President, Meituan. The service will primarily focus on transporting medical supplies and emergency items along Dubai Marina’s waterfront. Meituan began its overseas drone operations in Dubai in December, using the city as a testbed for its autonomous delivery technology. Expecting 10 to 15 per cent delivery orders, Dubai is shortly preparing a regulatory framework and mapping air corridors, Mao added.
