Air cargo demand in the Middle East went up by 2.7 per cent, and capacity by 4.3 per cent, in August 2025. “Air cargo demand grew for the sixth consecutive YoY of growth,” said Willie Walsh, Director General, IATA. Volumes continue to grow even as global trade patterns change, added Walsh. More goods are moving by air on this route as companies look for faster options and try to reduce risks linked to changing tariffs. Worldwide, demand for air cargo grew 4.1 per cent in August, with global markets up 5.1 per cent. The rise was supported by higher global trade, lower jet fuel prices, and stronger manufacturing activity.
