Middle Eastern airports plan to invest US$151 billion in expanding capacity and upgrading facilities for cargo and passengers to meet the growing demands. His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, President, Dubai Civil Aviation Authority, Chairman, Dubai Airports, Chairman and Chief Executive, Emirates Airline Group, said, “The airports across the region are modernising and expanding to meet growing demand, with a combined project value of over US$ 1.3 trillion across the Middle East, Africa and South Asia.” The latest World Airport Traffic Report by Airports Council International (ACI) World projects global airport investments to soar to US$2.4 trillion by 2040. In the Middle East, the aviation market is forecast to reach US$33.7 billion by 2029.
