Modon and Medlog have joined forces to build a major integrated logistics zone in Jeddah’s Third Industrial City, aiming to strengthen Saudi Arabia’s position as a global logistics hub. The new facility will feature container yards and warehouses, covering 100,000 sq m, with an initial investment of SAR137 million ($36.5 million). Once fully operational, it is expected to handle around 60,000 twenty-foot equivalent units (TEUs) per year by 2038.
Medlog, the logistics arm of the Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC), operates in over 80 countries and manages more than 8.5 million sq m of infrastructure worldwide. The partnership is designed to support Saudi Arabia’s National Transport and Logistics Strategy by providing integrated services such as storage, distribution, handling, and customs clearance.
The agreement was signed at Medlog’s Geneva headquarters by Modon CEO Eng. Majed Al Argoubi after detailed discussions on expanding cooperation. The project is expected to add SAR44 million to the kingdom’s GDP and create around 200 direct jobs, with potential for further expansion in the coming years.
This move reflects Saudi Arabia’s broader push to develop logistics infrastructure, enhance service ecosystems, and attract global investment. By combining Modon’s local expertise with Medlog’s international experience, the new logistics zone is set to become a key node for trade and industrial growth in the Middle East.
