MSC moves ahead to acquire air cargo forwarder, Clasquin




Swiss shipping firm, MSC, has moved forward with its deal to acquire global air and sea freight forwarder Clasquin, a company statement stated. MSC subsidiary SAS Shipping Agencies Services Sàrl has entered into a put option agreement for acquisition of over 42 per cent of the share capital of Clasquin. It has a network of 22 offices in APAC region and recently its business has also grown in the Middle East and North West and sub-Saharan Africa. Completion of the transaction will be subject to obtaining clearance from regulatory authorities, expected this year-end. SAS will then file a tender offer with the Autorité des Marchés Financiers (AMF) for the remaining shares in the capital of Clasquin. According to its website, forwarder and logistics company Clasquin offers bespoke air cargo solutions for the transport of luxury and cosmetic products, clothing and fashion products, dangerous goods, perishables and pharma.
