A new digital truck management system has been launched at Jordan’s Aqaba port to improve the movement of cargo vehicles, reduce waiting times and ease congestion inside the port area. The system connects transport operators and port authorities through a single platform to manage truck entry, movement and clearance.

The tool is designed to speed up cargo handling by organising truck flows more efficiently and reducing delays in loading and unloading operations. It also aims to cut paperwork and simplify permit processes linked to truck access and cargo movement.

Shadi Ramzi Al Majali, Chairman of the Board of Commissioners of the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority, said, “We are not merely launching a company; we are laying the foundation for advanced digital infrastructure powered by artificial intelligence and smart analytics, designed to enhance supply chain efficiency, reduce time and costs, and elevate transparency and security across cargo and truck movements."

By tracking and regulating trucks in real time, the system is expected to improve the overall flow of goods through the port and reduce bottlenecks that slow down logistics operations.

The platform is part of wider efforts to digitise port operations in Aqaba and improve efficiency in freight transport. It supports smoother coordination between different stakeholders involved in cargo handling.

The system has been introduced under a joint logistics initiative involving AD Ports Group and Aqaba Development Corporation as part of ongoing upgrades to the port’s operational infrastructure.

The truck management solution is expected to strengthen Aqaba’s role as a regional trade gateway by making road-based freight movement faster, more organised and more predictable.
