Oman has broken ground on a major agro logistics and warehousing hub in the Najd region of Dhofar, aiming to create a national backbone for agricultural storage and distribution, an official release stated. Spearheaded by Oman Agriculture Development Company, the facility will have the capacity to handle 50,000 tonnes of produce annually, acting as a centralised hub for cold storage, sorting, packaging, and post-harvest processing. Set for completion by mid-2026, the warehouse-centric complex will streamline agricultural logistics, reduce post-harvest losses, and expand market access for local farmers. Spanning over 54,000 acres, the Najd zone has attracted RO 190 million in investments, and with wheat production surging 600 per cent since 2022, the demand for robust warehousing infrastructure has become critical. The project is part of a larger vision to establish an integrated ‘Agricultural City’ focused on agri-tech, food processing, and logistics, the release added.
I have been looking for a reliable optical sorter for our grain processing complex for a long time. The build quality and sorting accuracy were a pleasant surprise https://metragraincleaner.com/product_category/optical-color-sorters/ excellent equipment! Installation was quick, and there were no failures in operation. I was especially pleased with the high speed of grain processing. Support at all stages is top notch. I can confidently recommend it to my colleagues in the industry.
