The Board of Directors of Oman and Etihad Rail, the developer and operator of the railway network linking the Sultanate of Oman and the UAE held a meeting in Muscat. His Royal Highness Shaikh Theyab bin Mohammed bin Zayed al Nahyan, Chairman of the Board of Directors, Etihad Rail took part in ther meeting. The board also reviewed the advancements that support the developments of the project, which will see the construction of a railway network linking Sohar Port with the UAE National Railway Network in line with global standards. Among the achievements highlighted were the innovative engineering solutions for tackling diverse terrains along the route, which led to a 25 per cent reduction in tunnel works and a 50 per cent reduction in bridge construction. Specialized hydrological solutions were also incorporated to address diverse weather conditions along the network.
