Oman and Lebanon are boosting economic and commercial cooperation with a focus on logistics and trade facilitation. Qais bin Mohammed Al Yousef, Minister of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion of Oman, received Dr. Amer Bassat, Minister of Economy and Trade of Lebanon to discuss strategies for enhancing bilateral relations. The discussions covered trade, investment, and industrial cooperation, including activating the Greater Arab Free Trade Area agreement and establishing an Omani–Lebanese Business Council. Both sides explored operating maritime and air shipping lines to facilitate smoother cargo movement between the two countries. Opportunities for industrial and logistical collaboration were highlighted, with Lebanese companies invited to leverage Omani economic zones for storage, distribution, and re-export of food products. Joint working teams will also be formed to study import and export prospects and participation in shared projects.
