Oman has signed 28 investment agreements worth more than RO 304 million, including projects in logistics, manufacturing and food production across its industrial cities, free zones and special economic zones.

The investments are expected to strengthen the country’s logistics network, support the movement of goods and improve links between industrial centres and international markets. New manufacturing facilities could also increase demand for freight, warehousing and distribution services.

Sohar Free Zone secured investments worth RO 58.5 million, while the Special Economic Zone at Duqm attracted RO 55.08 million. Both locations play a role in connecting industrial activity with regional and international trade.

Projects across the zones include an iron and steel products plant in Sohar, a shrimp-feed factory in Duqm and new production facilities in Salalah. These developments are expected to generate demand for the transport of raw materials and finished goods.

Khazaen Economic City also attracted investment in projects involving building materials and logistics. The wider agreements cover more than two million square metres across eight locations, including Sohar, Duqm, Salalah, Khazaen, Raysut, Ibri and Nizwa.

The projects form part of Oman’s efforts to diversify its economy and expand industrial activity, creating opportunities for logistics operators involved in road freight, storage and supply chain services.
