Peru, Kuwait expand Latin America-Gulf trade links

Kuwait and Peru are looking to deepen trade and logistics cooperation, with plans to increase the movement of goods and strengthen supply chain links between Latin America and the Gulf. The two countries are exploring closer collaboration in logistics, infrastructure, food security and renewable energy, while Peru aims to expand exports to the Kuwaiti market.

Peru is seeking to increase shipments of coffee, agricultural produce, fisheries products, textiles, garments and processed foods to Kuwait. The move is expected to diversify trade flows and create new opportunities for importers, exporters and logistics providers serving both markets.

Peruvian Ambassador Carlos Enrique Jimenez Gil-Fortoul said Peru is ready to strengthen commercial ties with Kuwait and build long-term trade partnerships. "We are working to expand Peru's presence in the Kuwaiti market and create new opportunities for businesses in both countries," he said.

Both countries also see potential for cooperation in infrastructure, mining and digital technologies to support trade growth. Peru said its extensive free trade network and export capabilities can help improve market access, strengthen regional supply chains and support the growing exchange of goods between Peru, Kuwait and the wider Gulf region.
