Qatar Airways scales up animal handling cargo services

Qatar Airways Cargo (QAC) has ramped up animal handling facilities to ensure a growth in the number of pets flying in its freighters in the second half of the year. The carrier offers top-notch animal handling cargo facilities in the air logistics sector. In 2023, QAC transported more than 550,000 animals, which included as many as 9,500 horses. The cargo airline would be determined to increase these numbers in the next phase, a release stated. Earlier this year, Qatar Airways opened a state-of-the-art animal centre to support the smooth animal handling cargo process. It is the largest facility of its kind in the global logistics industry, which boasts a massive 5,260 sq. mtrs., of space and loaded with many features such as “Groom’s Room” attendant lounge, fully temperature-controlled facility, trained veterinary staff, and separate spaces for various animals.
