Qatar has expanded its land cargo network to connect with more than 75 countries through the global TIR  (Transports Internationaux Routiers) system while simplifying customs procedures to move goods faster across borders. The move is expected to help traders and logistics companies transport cargo more efficiently and reduce delays in cross-border shipments.

By using the TIR system, trucks can move goods across several countries under a single customs seal, which removes the need for full inspections at every border crossing. This significantly cuts waiting times for trucks, lowers transport costs and helps supply chains run more smoothly.

Most shipments are currently moving by road through the land border with Saudi Arabia using the transit system. This shift is helping logistics companies maintain steady cargo movement and giving businesses an alternative way to move goods quickly between markets.

Qatar has also activated the system electronically through the Al Nadeeb customs platform, allowing companies to complete export, import and transit procedures digitally. This reduces paperwork and speeds up cargo clearance.

Authorities are also working with shipping companies to extend truck operating hours and simplify permits for drivers and vehicles, further supporting the logistics sector and helping cargo move faster across regional trade routes.
