Qatar’s Hamad, Ruwais and Doha ports handled 119,963 tonnes of bulk cargo in August 2026, a 168% increase from July, according to data from Mwani Qatar. Livestock handling also rose 191% to 5,989 heads, while vessel calls increased 13% to 133 during the month.

The increase in cargo volumes points to stronger activity across Qatar’s maritime logistics network, supporting the movement of goods and essential supplies through the country. The ports also handled 49,040 TEUs of containers, 30,011 tonnes of general cargo and 30 RORO units in August.

The rise in bulk cargo is particularly notable as volumes increased sharply in just one month. Stronger port activity can support demand for cargo handling, storage, inland transport and other logistics services.

During the first half of 2026, Qatar’s ports handled more than 493,000 TEUs and nearly 273,000 tonnes of general cargo. Bulk cargo exceeded 324,000 tonnes during the same period, alongside almost 25,000 RORO units and more than 112,000 livestock.

The August figures show continued movement across Qatar’s trade and logistics network, with growth extending beyond container cargo.
