As Middle East countries strengthen their logistics networks to support regional and international trade, QNB Egypt has expanded its banking services at Al Amreya Dry Port in Alexandria to support cargo movement and businesses involved in imports and exports.

Covering around 146,000 square metres and representing an investment of EGP 700 million, the dry port is designed to improve cargo links between seaports, industrial areas and distribution centres. It aims to ease congestion at seaports, improve cargo handling and reduce transport time and costs.

QNB Egypt will provide trade finance services, including letters of credit, letters of guarantee, payments and collections. The services will support logistics operators, importers, exporters and businesses involved in maritime activities and customs clearance.

The facility forms part of Egypt’s strategy to develop integrated logistics corridors linking dry ports and logistics zones with road and rail networks. These connections aim to improve the movement of goods and strengthen Egypt’s role in regional logistics and transit trade.

Mohamed Khairat, Assistant CEO, Board Member and Chief Business Officer at QNB Egypt, said: “With this strategic presence, we aim to support businesses in trade and logistics, facilitate their financial transactions and deliver services tailored to their business requirements.”
