Qatar Airways Cargo has launched a new service called Pharma Passive FlexTemp to handle temperature changes during pharmaceutical shipments. The tool is meant for cases where medicines or healthcare products start their journey under one temperature condition and later need a different one while still in transit. It is designed to work with existing Pharma Passive and Pharma Critical Passive services from Qatar Airways Cargo.
The development addresses a gap in the cold chain process, where passive packaging often loses effectiveness before delivery is complete. In such situations, maintaining product stability can become difficult. The new option allows shipments to adjust temperature handling within the same transport flow, reducing the risk of damage or spoilage.
For the pharmaceutical sector, this can help improve reliability in long-distance and multi-stage logistics, especially for sensitive medicines that must stay within strict temperature ranges.
The service is aimed at improving continuity in healthcare supply chains, where delays or changing conditions can affect product quality. It also supports logistics providers in managing more complex shipments without breaking temperature control standards. According to the carrier, the service is available across its global network and can be booked through its digital platform, giving shippers more flexibility when planning temperature-sensitive transport routes.
