Queen Alia International Airporthandles 5,979 tonnes of cargo

The Queen Alia International Airport (QAIA) handled 5,397 aircraft movements and 5,979 tonnes of air cargo in November 2023, up by 2.4 per cent and 17.9 per cent, respectively, compared to the same period last year, as per Airport International Group statistics.

This is a significant rise for the airport in Jordan. The QAIA also handled 60,932 tonnes of cargo, as against the same period the year earlier. “While continuing to maintain positive year-to-date indicators, we have witnessed a drop in monthly figures, as anticipated given the ongoing developments in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank. Despite the situation, Jordan remains a safe and welcoming destination for travelers from around the world, and we look forward to regaining momentum in the months to come,” Nicolas Claude, CEO, Airport International Group said. According to a comprehensive study commissioned by Airport International Group and conducted by IATA Consulting, in 2019, QAIA processes over 99 per cent of cargo.
