Dubai Civil Aviation Authority (DCAA), in collaboration with Dubai Customs, has announced the launch of the Remote Visual Inspection Project to speed up trade in aircraft spare parts and strengthen aviation logistics and supply chain efficiency. The system enables virtual inspections for issuing No Objection Certificates (NOCs), cutting processing times and reducing delays in the movement of high-value aviation components.

The move comes as demand for spare parts identification and NOC services has surged, with volumes in 2025 reported to be three times higher than in 2024. The increase reflects rising trade in aircraft components and growing maintenance activity across regional fleets. By shifting from physical to remote inspections, authorities aim to handle higher volumes without disrupting supply chains.

Mohammed Abdulla Lengawi, Director-General of the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority, said the project reflects close coordination with Dubai Customs to deliver faster and more flexible services while maintaining safety and compliance standards.

For airlines, MRO providers and freight forwarders, faster approvals mean critical parts can move quickly through the trade cycle, lowering the risk of aircraft-on-ground situations. In aviation logistics, speed and predictability are key to keeping operations running smoothly.

The initiative will support smoother trade flows, improve supply chain resilience and reinforce Dubai’s position as a regional hub for aviation logistics and spare parts distribution.
