Rhenus Logistics has begun a new overland freight corridor through Jordan to maintain cargo movement between Europe, Türkiye and the Gulf markets to enhance logistics routes. The route connects Europe and Türkiye with destinations including Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain and Oman.
Habeeb Kunhipurayil, Regional Manager Air & Ocean - Middle East, Rhenus Logistics said, “By establishing this corridor, we are able to offer a stable and scalable solution that keeps goods moving between Europe and the Middle East.”
The new corridor is aimed at helping companies avoid delays linked to pressure on existing sea and road transport routes. The service combines road, ferry and multimodal transport, offering transit times of 10–13 days from Türkiye and 19–22 days from Europe, depending on border conditions. The setup also allows cargo to shift between land, sea and air transport if required.
Rhenus recently completed an 18-day shipment of oilfield equipment from Lyon in France to Dubai for oil and gas supplier FTE using the Jordan route. The shipment travelled through Italy and Türkiye before entering the Gulf via Jordan. A cross-stuffing operation in Jordan helped meet GCC transport regulations and avoid disruption to the customer’s operations.
