Riyadh Air has launched its cargo operations under the brand ‘Riyadh Cargo’, marking the carrier’s entry into the global market, said Pravin Singh, Global Head, Cargo, Riyadh Air. The move positions Riyadh as a growing hub for international trade and logistics, in line with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030.
Riyadh Cargo will use capacity on the airline’s wide-body fleet, with more than 120 aircraft on order, to move goods efficiently across global markets. The operation has already begun transporting cargo on the Riyadh to London Heathrow route, handling a variety of shipments including garments, fresh flowers, seafood, tea, and coffee.
“Riyadh Cargo has been built with a clear focus on operational discipline, reliability, and long-term scalability. Launching within a live environment allows us to test, learn, and continuously refine how we operate, while delivering real value to our customers from the get-go. The launch of the brand is a foundational step in building a cargo business that grows alongside our network expansion and supports Saudi Arabia’s broader logistics ambitions,” Singh added.
Digital technology is central to Riyadh Cargo’s approach. Dedicated cargo management systems, centralized airwaybill control, and end-to-end platforms like CHAMPS Cargo Spot-Neo allow real-time tracking, enhanced visibility, and faster decision-making. Digitally tracked unit load devices further improve efficiency and sustainability.
On the ground, cargo handling and hub management are supported by SATS Saudi Arabia at key airports, including Riyadh, Dammam, and Jeddah. The facilities ensure smooth transfer of shipments and high service reliability. Riyadh Cargo is designed to grow with the airline’s network and plays a key role in Saudi Arabia’s plan to become a leading global logistics and aviation hub, supporting trade, jobs, and economic growth.
