Riyadh Air, Swissport plan load control centre for cargo ops

Swissport Saudi Arabia and Riyadh Air will establish the Kingdom’s first Centralised Load Control (CLC) centre in Riyadh, with operations expected within eight months. The centre will provide centralised load planning, weight and balance calculations and load documentation for Riyadh Air.
For cargo operations, the centre will centralise specialist load control activities and provide a dedicated capability as Riyadh Air builds its network. Centralising these functions will allow specialist expertise and consistent processes to support the airline’s operations.
The partnership will also focus on developing Saudi talent in load planning, weight and balance and related operational processes. Swissport said Saudi professionals will receive structured training through Swissport Academy.
“This partnership is an important step in developing specialised aviation expertise in the Kingdom,” said Hamad Alhemede, CEO of Swissport Saudi Arabia. “We will combine Swissport’s global standards and experience with local talent, supported by Swissport Academy, to build a strong team capable of operating the centre.”
