Saudia Cargo launches Dhaka-Frankfurt freighter route

Saudia Cargo has started a new twice-weekly freighter service between Dhaka, Bangladesh, and Frankfurt, Germany, connecting two major trade and logistics markets. The service began on August 14 and is aimed at supporting growing cargo flows between Asia and Europe.
The new route gives freight forwarders and shippers an additional air cargo link for moving goods between Bangladesh and European markets. Dhaka is a major export centre for garments and textiles, while Frankfurt is a key gateway for cargo distribution across Europe.
The service is expected to support shipments including textiles, pharmaceuticals, industrial equipment, perishables and e-commerce goods. The additional capacity could help businesses move time-sensitive cargo more efficiently and strengthen links between Asian manufacturing centres and European markets.
The launch comes as Saudia Cargo expands its international network. The carrier said it handled more than 570,000 tonnes of cargo across over 90 international destinations in its latest annual performance.
Saudia Cargo is also increasing its freighter capacity, with an agreement to acquire four Boeing 777-200 freighters. The aircraft are expected to support the carrier’s wider network expansion and its ability to handle growing international cargo demand.
