Saudia is set to add four Boeing 777F freighters to its cargo fleet under a purchase and leaseback agreement with Dubai Aerospace Enterprise (DAE). The aircraft will be delivered between October 2026 and May 2027, adding new freighter capacity to the Saudi carrier’s international cargo network.

Firoz Tarapore, Chief Executive Officer of DAE, commented, “These aircraft will support the airline’s expanding cargo operations and enhance its ability to serve key markets across its global network.”

The additional aircraft will allow Saudia to move more cargo across long-haul routes and serve growing freight demand in key international markets. The expansion also gives the carrier greater flexibility to increase capacity on routes where cargo volumes are rising.

The Boeing 777F is a long-range freighter with a high payload capacity, making it suitable for moving larger cargo volumes over longer distances. For the wider air cargo sector, the fleet expansion could support stronger cargo links between Saudi Arabia and major global markets, while providing additional capacity for international trade flows.

The four aircraft will enter Saudia’s fleet over a seven-month period, allowing the carrier to gradually increase its freighter capacity rather than adding all four aircraft at once.

The deal comes as Saudi Arabia continues to develop its position as a regional logistics and trade hub, with air freight playing a key role in connecting the Kingdom with international markets.
