Schneider Electric and Dubai Silicon Oasis (DSO) have joined forces to encourage the adoption of e-mobility solutions by installing an electric vehicle (EV) charging station at Scheider Electric’s Gulf headquarters. Demand for EVs in the UAE market has increased over the past few years and is projected to witness CAGR of 30 per cent until 2028, as per a global electric mobility readiness index published in 2022. Post installation of the EV charging station, Schneider Electric’s Dubai Silicon Oasis facility is likely to provide 300,000 km of driving distance every year to all EV owners, saving 40,000 kg of carbon in car-direct-emissions. “In the Middle East, the UAE is leading sustainability in transportation sector to become carbon neutral by 2050, and currently ranks eighth globally in terms of readiness for electric mobility. Dubai Silicon Oasis, an innovation and knowledge hub within the Dubai 2040 Urban Master Plan, is committed to supporting the expansion of electric vehicle usage within its community and throughout the wider Dubai and UAE.
