Sharjah expands trade ties with India, Dominican Republic

Sharjah is set to strengthen trade and supply chain links with India and the Dominican Republic, with a focus on improving cargo connectivity, supporting cross-border movement of goods and expanding access to international markets.

The Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) is exploring opportunities to enhance trade flows and strengthen economic ties with both countries. The efforts aim to support smoother supply chain connections, improve market access and create new channels for the movement of goods between Sharjah and global destinations.

The Dominican Republic’s role as a gateway to Latin America and the Caribbean offers opportunities to develop new trade corridors and logistics links. Strengthening ties with India will further support one of the UAE’s key trade routes, enabling greater movement of goods and services between the two markets.

“Stronger trade connections and improved supply chain integration are essential to supporting efficient movement of goods and long-term economic growth,” said Abdallah Sultan Al Owais, Chairman of SCCI.

The initiatives are expected to enhance Sharjah’s international trade network and strengthen its role as a link between regional and global markets.
