Sharjah Airport Authority reported continued growth in air cargo operations in 2025, said Ali Salem Al Midfa, Chairman, Sharjah Airport Authority. Total handled cargo reached 204,323 tonnes, up from 195,909 tonnes in 2024 and 141,358 tonnes in 2023, reflecting a sustained upward trend. Sea-flight cargo volumes also rose to 16,770 tonnes in 2025, compared to 14,035 tonnes in 2024 and 12,566 tonnes in 2023, highlighting the growing demand for integrated air and sea logistics solutions.

This performance underscores the airport’s role as a logistics hub connecting Asia, Africa, the Middle East, and Europe. Strengthened partnerships with global cargo operators and continued investment in infrastructure and digital systems have enhanced the airport’s capacity and operational efficiency, supporting global supply chains and trade flows.

He said the growth reflects the airport’s long-term strategy and commitment to operational excellence, while Sheikh Faisal bin Saud Al Qasimi, Director of the Authority, highlighted the advanced ecosystem—including infrastructure, governance, and regulatory support—that enables Sharjah to handle rising cargo demand reliably.

The expansion of Sharjah Airport’s capabilities positions it as a key gateway for air and sea cargo in the region, catering to growing trade volumes and providing scalable logistics solutions for international businesses.
